Aol To Hire ‘Hundreds’ Of Journalists, Reorganize Content Division (AdAge — paywall)

Aol is planning to hire hundreds of journalists, editors and videographers in the coming year as it builds out its content-first business model. David Eun, president of Aol’s media and studios division, announced the push Wednesday. His strategy for the unit will include grouping all the sites into 17 “super-networks.” MarketWatch: “We are going to be the largest net hirer of journalists in the world next year,” Eun said. The industry is beaten down, and the word that AOL intends to beef up its ranks is akin to putting the word out in skywriting.
