Chicago Tribune, The Onion Become Partners — No Joke (Chicago Tribune)

Looking to wring money from funny, the Chicago Tribune Media Group will take over ad sales, printing and distribution of The Onion in the Chicago market through a new partnership announced Thursday. Onion Inc., parent of the satirical paper, will retain the rights to and control of all editorial content for the Chicago edition, as it does elsewhere. Onion Inc., which has its corporate headquarters in Chicago, says it reaches approximately 1.8 million readers in print weekly and 10 million monthly online.
