Conde Nast announced yesterday that Margaret Russell is the new editor in chief of Architectural Digest. She will start work on September 7. The company also announced that they are packing up Architectural Digest and moving the magazine to Manhattan. That should be convenient for Russell, who already lives in New York.
Not such good news for the Los Angeles staff of the mag, however. LA Observed reports that employees “were told there may be some kind of satellite office remaining in L.A., but that jobs could be affected.”
Russell currently works as editor in chief of brand content at Elle Decor. WWD reports that her likely successor is Wendy Goodman from New York magazine.
