HuffPost Controversy Highlights Cavalier Online Editorial Culture (Yahoo! News / The Cutline)

What began presumably as an innocent post by a cub reporter has ballooned into one of this week’s media controversies. NY Post: Why not suspend them all? That’s the question raised by The Huffington Post’s decision this week to “indefinitely suspend” a young writer, Amy Lee, for cribbing liberally from an AdAge column. TheWrap.com / Media Alley: HuffPost, the site built largely on aggregation, is enmeshed in a mini-scandal caused by…bad aggregation. New York / Daily Intel: Of course, HuffPost could continue to “suspend” young staffers willy-nilly and probably not affect its bottom line or even its productivity rate. But that would be bad PR.
