‘As We Are,’ the avant-garde creation from Matthew Mohr goes viral!
This 14-foot, three-dimensional head is an interactive sculpture. Covered in 300 LED panels and 850,000 LED lights, the piece projects the head of passerby’s via a photo booth in the back to the audience.
This sculpture, commissioned by the public, is located in the Columbus Convention Center and can be enjoyed for its lifespan of seven to ten years. Created to communicate with audiences in a very intimate way, the sculpture offers a not so subtle commentary on social media and the impact it has on today’s culture.
As said by Mohr, “An interactive art piece is a genuine opportunity to connect with someone,” he says. “If in some small way they form a relationship with it and think about the life they’re living, I think it’s well worth it.”
